Registrations for the 2026 competition are now open year!

Don't forget that you will need to register as a coordinator again for 2026, even if you were a registered coordinator in 2025.

 

**IMPORTANT 2026 UPDATE**: Citizen Science will take a hiatus in 2026 as we work to review and update this category.

There have been a raft of changes for the 2026 competition; it might be worth watching recording of the Navigating the Oliphant Science Awards webinar held on Monday 16th February so you can keep on top of things! 

 

Don't forget to check out this year's Science Writing commemorative topic - it's right up the alley of any pre-historic, fossil loving students!

Sunday 17th May 2026 - Coordinator and Project Registrations close.

Sunday 17th May 2026 - Judging registrations close.

Monday 18th May 2026 - Online amendments period opens.

Sunday 31st May 2026 - Online amendments period closes.

Friday 5th June 2026 - Regional Student Travel Fund applications close.

Friday 5th June 2026 - Online submission for Round 1 (offsite) Projects opens.

Sunday 28th June 2026 - Online submission for Round 1 (offsite) Projects closes.

Friday 3rd to Sunday 19th July 2026 - Judging of Round 1 (offsite) Projects.

Saturday 25th July 2026 ONLY - Programming, Apps and Robotics (including Electronic Games) judging day (strictly by appointment only).

Monday 27th July to Sunday 2nd August 2026 - Online submission for Round 2 (onsite) projects.

Wednesday 5th August 2026 ONLY - Delivery day for Round 2 (onsite) projects.

Thursday 6th August 2026 ONLY - Judging of Round 2 (onsite) projects.

Friday 7th August 2026 - Science Alive! STEM Careers Day (schools only)

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August 2026 - Science Alive! at the Wayville Showgrounds.

Monday 10th August 2026 ONLY - Project collection day for Round 2 (onsite) projects.

Friday in October 2026 - Presentation Ceremony (strictly by invitation only) (date TBA)

Friday in October 2026 - 2026 OSA Coordinators' Celebration! (date TBA)
