Einstein-First is a contemporary approach to science education that introduces students to the Einsteinian concepts underpinning modern science and technology, replacing outdated classical descriptions of the physical world. Using simple, age-appropriate and highly engaging activities, Einstein-First aims to build scientific literacy from an early age and support students to become confident, lifelong learners.

Backed by more than a decade of school trials and research, Einstein-First has developed a modern science curriculum targeting Years 3–10. The program is an award-winning national collaboration led by the University of Western Australia, working alongside STAWA, AISWA and the WA Department of Education.

Fee-free professional learning opportunity
Co-funded by the Australian Department of Education, Einstein-First is offering 40 fee-free places for Australian educators to undertake a fully online micro-credential short course. The course is suitable for both primary and secondary teachers, with no specialist science background required.

Participants will explore some of the most exciting scientific discoveries of the past two centuries through to current research, including:

  • Atoms and molecules
  • Black holes
  • Quantum computing
  • Quantum principles underpinning climate science

Teachers will be supported with practical, engaging activities that can be adapted for a range of year levels.
